Could A Global Financial Crisis Happen Again?

The Global financial crisis affected the world economies and by extension people’s lives and everyone is asking the question ‘could the global crisis will happen again?’ and when that will happen. The global crisis was caused by a combination of factors including the credit crunch, investor in the US becoming weary of the existing sub-prime loans, and the resulting liquidity crunch. This has lead to the rise in prices of commodities in a continuous trend therefore making it difficult for people to access the basic needs of the society (not to mention a mass influx of customers for every independent financial adviser in North America).
Another part of the problem was the inherent greed of those in charge of some of the biggest investment and mortgage companies worldwide. Many people lost their money including their life saving because of the fraud perpetrated on them. Unless there are some concrete form of regulations and oversight that prevents the problems that happened before from occurring again then the likelihood of the situation recurring remains great.
The effect of the crisis has left many countries in serious economic problems and most are current employing some very serious and painful measures in an effort to sure up their economy and cut government spending. Most have also resorted to borrowing money from the major lending agencies to assist with their efforts. Countries like Greece and Portugal have also had civil unrest over the policies their governments are employing.
Governments now have to engage in measures and enact laws that will help to curb state spending and waste it is more than likely that we will be in this position again in the not so distant future.
Consumers will also have to be more proactive and cautious about where and with whom they invest their money. Some of the biggest investment companies have gone under because of bad decisions. Also consumers must also be careful about the loans they take out and ensure that they can meet the payment installments. If it seems too good to be true then chances are it is.
The global crisis that may take place might not be as big as the one that took place in 2008 but unless we change a number of things, it will certainly happen.
